Sippin’ into Spring: The Best Cocktails to Enjoy This Season

Spring has sprung, and what better way to celebrate than with some refreshing spring cocktails? Whether you're hosting a backyard party, wedding or milestone event or just want to impress your guests, we've got some fun and fabulous cocktail recipes that are sure to please. So, grab your shaker and get ready to mix up some delicious drinks!

First up is the Lavender Lemonade Cocktail, a perfect combination of sweet lavender and tangy lemonade with a kick of vodka.

For a light and refreshing cocktail make a lavender simple syrup to sweeten your lemonade instead of plain ole sugar.

· Mix 2 oz vodka with 4 oz. of lavender lemonade, and a splash of club soda.

· Garnish with a lemon wheel and lavender sprig.

· For a beautiful purple hued version use Empress 1908 Gin. (The butterfly pea flower and other botanicals makes this a pretty and delicious version)

Try the Strawberry Basil Smash

· Muddle 3 large strawberries & 2 large basil leaves

· Add 2 oz of a nice botanical gin

· Add 1 oz lime juice

· 1oz simple syrup.

· 3/4 oz club soda

Muddle strawberries and basil in a shaker. Add gin, lime juice and simple syrup. Stir and pour over ice. Top with club soda and give a stir. Garnish with a fun straw or swizzle stick and a strawberry.

The Grapefruit Paloma is a classic cocktail (and this Sipping Chef’s Favorite) made with tequila, grapefruit juice, and soda for a slightly tart and refreshing drink.

· Mix 2.5 oz tequila (I like this one on the stronger side)

· 3 oz grapefruit juice

· 1.5 oz grapefruit soda or club soda

· ½ oz of Elderflower syrup or liqueur.

Stir and garnish with a grapefruit slice and a rosemary sprig for an interesting twist.

The Peach Bellini is a sweet and bubbly cocktail perfect for brunch or any special occasion, made by combining fresh peach puree and Prosecco. Add a bit of Raspberry puree for that beautiful hue and your golden!

· 5 oz prosecco

· 1 oz of peach puree

· ½ oz of raspberry puree.

Just make it in your flute and give it a gentle stir. Garnish with a few floating raspberries.

By The Way - There are soooo many amazing champagne/sparkling wine cocktails that I can hardly contain myself when I get going. (Psst. A post for another day!)

The Watermelon Margarita is a fruity twist on the classic margarita, made with fresh watermelon juice, tequila, and lime.

· In a shaker with ice add 2 oz Blanco tequila

· 1 oz of lime juice

· 4 oz watermelon juice, puree seedless watermelon chunks in blender

· 1 oz triple sec.

Shake and strain over fresh ice into a rimmed glass. Rimming with Lime Tajin spice makes it all the more interesting. Garnish with a lime wheel and if you want to get fancy-a pick skewered with some watermelon chunks.

The Aperol Spritz is a popular Italian cocktail that's perfect for spring with its bright, refreshing flavor.

The mix of Aperol, Prosecco, and soda water creates an effervescent drink that's great for sipping on warm days or as a before dinner cocktail to whet the appetite in a low abv way.

· Pour 2 oz of Aperol

· 3 oz prosecco, into a wine glass.

· Add ice cubes, finish with a splash of club soda and garnish with a slice of orange. Easy, peasy breezy!

The orange slice garnish adds a pop of color and a fragrant aroma, while the bitter notes of Aperol are balanced by the sweetness of Prosecco.

There you have it - fun and fabulous spring cocktails to impress your guests. So, grab your favorite recipe and shake things up for a delicious and memorable celebration!
